Play Jacks is a game of skill and agility that dates back to ancient times. It is played with 5 jacks, one of which is of a different color; it is the mother. The goal is to achieve several challenges by throwing and picking up one or more jacks.

How to play ?
Play Jacks is played by completing several challenges.
Challenge 1: the throw
- Throw the jacks on the ground.
- When you are ready, throw the mother in the air.
- Pick up a white bone and catch the mother before she hits the ground.
- Each white bone picked up is put aside and so on.
- Then pick up the bones 2 at a time, 3 at a time, and finally 4 at a time.
Challenge 2: the skull and crossbones
- Place a white bone between each finger.
- Place the mother on the back of your hand.
- Throw the mother and try to catch it in the palm of your hand.
- Bring the white bones back to the palm of your hand.
Challenge 3: The Bridge
- Throw the jacks on the ground.
- With the index finger and thumb of one hand, make a bridge.
- With the other hand, throw the mother and pass a bone through the bridge before catching it.
- Once all the knuckles have passed, proceed 2 at a time, 3 at a time and finally 4 at a time.
Challenge 4: Hollow and bump
- Choose between “Hollow” or “Hump” by calling it out.
- Place the jacks in the palm of your hand.
- Throw the white knuckles in the air, but keep the mother.
- If you chose “hollow“, but one or more of the bones fell on the “bump” side.
- Throw the mother and try to flip a bone on the right side before catching it and so on.
Challenge 5: The Wall
- Make a wall with one hand by placing it on the table.
- Throw the jacks to one side of the wall.
- Throw the mother, pick up a jack, pass it on the other side of the wall and catch the mother.
- Then do 2 at a time, 3 at a time and 4 at a time.
Challenge 6: the sausage
- Line up the 4 white-knuckle bones on the table, making sure there is a space the width of a hand.
- Throw the mother and, with the same hand, make a sharp movement between two white bones before catching the mother.
- Then proceed by making 2 sharp movements, then 3 and finally
Challenge 7: the well
- Hold the mother between your thumb and index finger to form a
- Place a white bone let on the back of your hand.
- Throw the white bone and try to make it fall into the well and so on.
- Once all 4 white knuckles are on the ground, try to pick them up in one go after throwing the mother.
Challenge 8: The Eiffel Tower
- Hold the mother between your thumb and index finger.
- While the white jacks rest in the palm of your hand.
- Throw the mother, put the white bones on the ground and catch the mother.
- Throw the mother again and sweep up the 4 white bones.
Challenge 9: The dog’s paw
- Place all the jacks on the back of your hand.
- Throw the jacks and then catch them by turning your hand-over.
- The jacks must end up in the palm of your hand.
Challenge 10: Cat’s Paw
- Place all the jacks on the back of your hand.
- Throw the jacks and catch them without turning your hand-over.
End of the round
- Jacks is a game that can be played solo or with other players.
- As soon as a player drops the mother or fails to catch a jack, the turn passes to the next player.
