Three card Monte rules

Three card Monte is a game of chance that is played with cards and cups. The player has to find the right card or the right cup.

Material

• Game with cards
  • 3 cards
  • 2 red cards and 1 black card

Or

• 2 black cards and 1 red card.

Game with cups

• 3 cups,
• 1 coin

Set up

• Game with cards
• Shuffle the cards.
• Line up the cards face up in front of you.
• Game with cups
• Turn the cups over.
• Line up the cups in front of you.

How to play

• Playing with cards
• If you are playing with 2 red and 1 black, the player’s objective is to find the black card.
• If you are playing with 2 blacks and 1 red, the player’s objective is to find the red card.
• The player locates and follows the movement of the card he/she has to find.
• Turn the cards over and start swapping places quickly.
• When you have finished, the player must indicate where the card is.

Game with cups

• Place the coin under one of the 3 cups.
• Quickly change the position of the cups.
• The player must follow the movement of the cup the coin is hidden under.
• When you have finished, the player must indicate under which cup the coin is hidden.
