Purpose of the game

In 12 Shots of Noon, each player must do their best to answer as many questions as possible correctly. Try to get the most money and become, at the end of the game, the mister Midi.

Course of the game

Round 1: The Kick-Off
  • The youngest player starts the first round
  • He chooses a number between 1 and 4
  • His left neighbor draws a “1st round” card and asks him the question corresponding to the chosen number
  • The player on his left reads the two suggested answers on the card, one visible and one hidden
  • To answer the question, the player chooses the visible or hidden answer
  • The hidden answer will be revealed after the player has finished choosing
  • If the answer is correct, the turn passes to the next player
  • If the answer is wrong, then he must cover his green desk star with his orange star token and pass the turn to the next player
  • Each player takes a turn until one of the players gets the answer wrong twice
  • At that point, that player loses the first round and turns his or her orange star to become a red star
  • When a player’s star turns red, he/she enters a Duel

First Duel

  • The player who lost the first round chooses another player to face him/her in a Duel (a player of his/her choice)
  • The challenged player reads aloud the title of the pair of Duel cards and chooses one of the two cards (the 2nd card will be set aside and used later)
  • The player to the left of the provoked player takes the chosen card and reads him the question with the 4 suggested answers
  • If the provoked player answers the question correctly, he wins the Duel and gets £3,000 from the provoked
  • If the provoked player gives an incorrect answer, he loses the Duel and offers £3,000 to the provoke
Second round : The Move By Move
  • Before starting this round :
-the players must remove the orange or red star token covering their desk to move to the green one
-Take a “Round 2” card face down (not all players should see the contents of the card)
-Place the “cache” card on top of it and slide the two cards on top of each other into the reveal board
NB: Make sure that the 7 small flaps on the right and the bottom flap are closed. The 7 large flaps on the left must be open.
-Carefully remove the “cover” plug at the end
  • The player who lost the first Duel starts the 2nd round
  • He takes the revealing board and reads the question to all the players
  • He gives his answer among the 7 propositions and checks if it is correct by opening the small flap on the right of the answer
If the small right panel shows TRUE, he passes the reveal board to the next player
    – If the small flap on the right shows FALSE, he covers the green star on his desk with his orange star token and passes the reveal board to the next player
  • This round rotates until all the TRUE cards on the board are open or until one player opens the FALSE card
  • When one of the two cases occurs, move on to the next question by replacing the card on the revealing board with another card (the “hide” card should always be used to keep the answers secret)
    – If a player opens the FALSE panel for the 2nd time, he turns his orange star token over and becomes a red star
At this point, the player with a red desk loses the second round and enters a Duel.

Second Duel

  • The player who lost the second round chooses another player to duel with
  • The player challenged to a Duel takes the second Duel card of the pair chosen in the first round
  • His left neighbor takes the card and the Duel proceeds exactly as in the 1st Duel

Round 3: The Fatal Blow
Before starting this round, all players must remove the orange or red star token from their desk to move to the green one.

  • The Coup Fatal takes place face-to-face
  • The two players opposing each other in the face-off each take an hourglass
  • They each draw a “3rd round” card face down and give it to another player
  • The latter reads the series of questions on his card to the first player during the entire face-off (the same goes for the second player in the face-off)
NB: The player with the most money in the face-off starts
  • The player turns over his hourglass
  • The player asks the 1st question of the “3rd round” card
If the player gives an incorrect answer or has no answer, the player moves on to the next question
-When a player gives a correct answer, he or she stops the time from running out of the hourglass by laying it flat
  • The 2nd player in the face-off begins his turn by turning over his hourglass
  • His turn continues exactly as the first player’s turn
  • Players take turns playing until the time offered by one of the two hourglasses has run out
  • The player whose hourglass runs out first loses the face-off and offers £3,000 to his opponentNote:
  • For a 2-player game, there is only one face-off
  • For a 3-player game, there are 2 head-to-heads: the 1st head-to-head is between the two players who have the most money. The 2nd face-off is between the winner of the 1st face-off and the third player
  • For a 4 player game, there are 2 face-offs: The player with the least money chooses another player for the 1st face-off (if there is a tie, the youngest player chooses his opponent). The 2nd face-off is between the two remaining players. The Final Round: The Master Shot and the Mysterious Star
    The Master Stroke
  • Before you begin “The Master Stroke”:
Take a face-down “Mystery Star” card (not all players should see what is on it).
-Place the “cache” card on top of it and slide the two cards into the reveal boardNote: Make sure that all the flaps of the board are closed and then carefully remove the “cache” card
  • The player with the least money starts the final round (in case of a tie, the youngest player starts)
  • The player who starts draws a card “The Master Stroke” and gives it to his left neighbor
  • The latter asks him the question n°1 and reads him the 3 answer proposals of the card
  • The player answers by choosing one of the two visible answers or the hidden oneNB: The hidden answer will be revealed after the player has chosen one
If the answer is correct, one of the large flaps on the left side of the reveal board will be opened to reveal part of the hidden image and the player will get £3,000
    – If the answer is incorrect, one of the small flaps to the right of the reveal board will be opened to reveal part of the hidden image and the player will not get any money
  • It is the next player’s turn to play
  • He/she draws a “Master stroke” card and gives it to the player on the left, who reads him/her the question n°2
  • The last round continues with the questions n°3, 4 and 5
Be careful! It is important to respect the order of increasing difficulty of the questions (n°1 to n°5)
    The Mystery Star
  • When a player thinks he can guess the hidden image of the “Mystery Star”, he can announce it out loud even if it is not his turn
  • To do so, he/she takes the revealing board and secretly looks to see if his/her answer is correct by opening the flap at the very bottom
    – If the answer is correct, he wins the £10,000 “Mystery Star” prize pool and the game ends. He will be the winner of the game.
    – If the answer is wrong, the player will be eliminated from the game
    – If no player can guess what the “Mystery Star” is after 5 questions, the game ends and no player wins the £10,000 prize poolEnd of the game

End of the game

When “The Master Stroke” and “The Mystery Star” are over, the players total up the money they have in their possession. The player with the most money wins the game and is awarded the title of “Master of Noon”!
